Spring Haiku... NaPoWriMo - Day 23 (I know it's late!)

An attempt at Haiku, as suggested by Heather Grace Stewart, one of my favourite poets. I don't think I nailed it, but it was an honest effort.

Spring

little buds leaping
unfolding to embrace light
waking from the dark

  1. HELLO haiku poet! This is beautiful! You nailed it! You got the 5-7-5 rhythm, and you also managed to get a kigo in there- a seasonal reference - to spring. And THEN you got the kireji - WAKING -the cutting word between the juxtaposed light and dark! WOW. I'm super impressed. May I edit your future book of haiku?

    1. Thanks - you have no idea how happy it makes me to read that I did it right - silly, but it means a lot to know the hour it took to put this together properly has been rewarded by appreciation.
